Week of Learning 1/11

Compliment Party:

We loved our pillows and blankets! They were so cute sprawled around the room playing on the iPads during rotations! 

Reading:

We read stories about what animals do during the winter to help survive like hibernating and migrating. 

Letters and Sight Words:

This week we learned about Uu. 

Math:

We finished learning about the teen numbers this week and the beginning of addition. 

This is called 4 Kings...we have to order the numbers 11-20 and color code them.

We started learning addition with blocks and how they fall-on the left and the right. When we add all of them together, we get the total number.

We did the same thing with pom poms inside and outside of the hula hoop.

We rolled dice and counted on. That means we said the number and counted on with the dots.

We had to pick our favorite teen number and draw that many of something. You would be surprised at how many picked 11 because it was less to draw!

Since we did about 500 laps in 5 days, we estimated that we would do about 300 laps in 3 days. We were right!

Unit Study:

We finished learning about the season of Winter. We made all kinds of snowflakes! It must have worked because then we actually got to see snow on Sunday! :)

5MTOW:

Keep working on counting forwards to 100, starting with any number! Once this is mastered, have them start counting backwards from any number.
