Happy New Year! :)
Mid-Year PALS
It is already time for PALS again! We will start Wednesday, January 13th. We will conference again the beginning of February.
Reading:
This week we read a bunch of winter books and made some great predictions. We also learned that you can make predictions with non-fiction, but instead of thinking about what's going to happen, you think about what you are going to learn.
Sight Words and Letters:
We learned about the letter Qq this week and the words: all, not, out.
Math:
We learned about ordinal numbers and had lots of fun at the red table playing games with Mrs. Kayes.
Laps:
We started added our laps each day to the previous day's amount! It is so neat to see the kids concretely add hundreds of cubes!
| 99 + 105= 204 |
Unit Study:
Since winter is here, we started our unit on Winter. We read some great books and learned about how we and animals adapt (clothing and fur) and how some animals survive (hibernation and migration).
5MTOW:
Say 2 numbers or digits and have the child tell you the number i.e. if I said 16, the child would say sixteen. Continue with numbers 1 to 100. If your child is up to the challenge, use 3 digit numbers!
