We continued preparing for our End of the Year celebration. We have been practicing our poems, singing our songs, and creating our crafts for the special day. But...we don't want to spoil the fun, so not alot of pictures again. Sorry!
They were so cute during our read-in, I had to post some pictures!
We listened to stories via Epic on the iPads.
We found many cozy spots to read!
And we read with each other.
Reading/Writing:
We continued reading pirate books and wrote a friendly letter, a narrative, a question answer (What don't pirates do?), and created a web of things we learned about pirates. We stapled all of these writings in a book of sorts to send home. It was a fun unit!
Math:
We played pirate math games to review skills.
Unit Study:
We learned about the pledge of allegiance, the flag, and the president of the U.S.A.
5MTOW:
Over the summer, have your child keep a journal where they write about their days-what happened, what was their favorite part, etc. Just like reading, the more a child writes, the better writer they will become.
